Winter Tourism: 1.8 Million Visit Bulgaria
Bulgaria has witnessed a bustling winter tourism season, with a total of 1.8 million tourists gracing its picturesque landscapes from December 1 to March 25
The Transport Ministries of Bulgaria and Qatar have signed an agreement which includes regular services of Qatar Airways to Sofia, starting in October 2010.
The information was reported by Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, who is on a 2-day official visit to Doha. The PM pointed out Qatar Airways are a 5-star carrier, maybe the best in the world and the agreement is a sign of Bulgaria's increased international reputation.
In addition to direct flights between Doha and Sofia, Qatar Airways would be able to use the Sofia Airport for connecting flights to other European destinations.
“Our goal is to make decisions quickly and directly without any intermediaries so that both countries can have maximum profit from the bi-lateral cooperation,” Borisov is quoted saying.
Bulgaria and Qatar Defense Ministries are further expected to sign an agreement for the training of Qatar servicemen in Bulgaria.
