Bulgaria: Commissioner Georgieva: Impeachment Is Internal Bulgarian Matter

Brussels is interested in Bulgaria’s bigger issues, and the potential impeachment of the President is an internal matter, EU Commissioner Kristalina Goergieva told Novinite.com (Sofia News Agency).

After her meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov in Sofia Monday, Georgieva has lunch with the Ambassadors of the EU member states in Sofia organized by the Spanish EU Presidency, and hosted by the Spanish Ambassador, Jorge Fuentes.

With respected to Bulgaria, the EC is interested mostly in its judicial and legislative reform, and macroeconomic stability, Georgieva said in an interview for Novinite.com and a couple of other Bulgarian media before the Ambassador’s lunch.

She has stressed her conviction that Bulgaria the not face the possibility of experiencing Greece’s financial problems, and praised the new EU 2020 Strategy for containing specific indicators for measuring progress.
