Bulgaria star Krassimir Balakov and ex German international Fredi Bobic starred in the ‘Burgas for Haiti’ charity soccer match on Wednesday.

Balakov, the current manager of Chernomorets Burgas and Bobic (current Director of Chernomorets) followed their guest appearances in the March 7 charity match against Haiti in Germany, with another aid-targeted game to help with the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake.

‘Stars of Balakov’ won 12:5 against ‘the Lords of Football’, with Balakov scoring 1 and Bobic shooting in a quick hat-trick. Local politicians and dignitaries took to the pitch for the match in Burgas’ Mladost sports hall in front of an enthusiastic audience.

Balakov is a former Bulgarian footballer and a key member of the Bulgarian national team that finished fourth in the 1994 FIFA World Cup. After Hristo Stoichkov, he is considered the greatest Bulgarian footballer of his generation.
