Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office is requesting permission to question the crew of the ill-fated “Ilinden” boat along with several representatives of the Macedonian authorities.

The request, which does not give a deadline to the Macedonian side, has been officially mailed by the Deputy Sofia City Prosecutor, Bozhidar Dzambazov.

In the beginning of September 2009, the tour boat “Ilinden,” sunk in Lake Ohrid killing 15 Bulgarians on board. Dzambazov, who is the monitoring prosecutor in the parallel probe conducted by Bulgaria, says that he is still to be appraised of the conclusions of the Macedonian investigation and is expecting official information.

One day ago, Macedonian authorities closed the investigation, but have refused to announce its outcome.
