Bulgaria’s Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, has confirmed that the government will return all of the overdue V.A.T rebate payments to private companies by the start of April.

Djankov, speaking in Pernik, said that BGN 160 M has so far been returned from the overdue payments, with an extra BGN 420 M still left to refund. He continued that the reimbursement of V.A.T to companies is the main theme for this year.

Meanwhile Djankov also commented on the planned government Health reforms. He said that the second part of the reforms would start at the end of the year.

Djankov concluded that the most important reforms are to stop financial leakages in the country’s hospital system and the raising of wages for medical workers.
