Some 52 000 Bulgarians are going to find new jobs in 2010, according to Labor Minister, Totyu Mladenov.
Speaking on bTV Thursday, Mladenov announced the start of the “Development” Program of the Labor Ministry, which kicks off on Monday, March 1, and will including retraining courses for 67 000 people.
Mladenov believes about 52 000 of those will be getting a new job in the coming months because the program would allow them to acquire vocational qualifications in professions that are badly needed on the Bulgarian labor market.
He pointed as an example to the demand for welders of which the Bulgarian market has been terribly short for years.
The “Development” program is advertised as a part of the anti-crisis package of the Bulgarian government.
Some 370 000 people are unemployed in Bulgaria in February 2010, according to latest unofficial data.
