How disappointing to hear news like this. Violence is never acceptable but when it results in a member of the emergency services being harmed in the process of carrying out their duty it is particularly galling.

"Violence is never acceptable ..."
So how do you suggest that a "drunk" that is threateneing everyone/anyone with a knife, should be dealt with ? Should we call for you maybe, to show us how it's done ?
What can one do, but offer one's heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the brave man who maybe agreed, too well, with the atttude expressed at the start of this reply.
