Bulgaria and Turkey will turn into the moving engines of the “Nabucco” project, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, says.

Borisov explained to reporters Saturday that the agreement has been made during his Friday meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Bulgaria’s PM stated he will put on the table the issue with the acceleration of the construction of the “Nabbucco” gas line during the Brussels Summit.

Borisov told Erdogan that before leaving for Turkey, he had spoken with the management of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and received assurances that there are funds slated for “Nabucco.”

On Saturday Borisov held meetings with the Istanbul Mayor, Kadir Topbas, the Valia (Governor) of Istanbul, Muammer Guler, and Ecumenical Patriarch Vartolomei. On Friday he also met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
