Bulgaria’s government has appointed Wednesday popular artist Gredi Assa as the head of the National Endowment Fund “13 Centuries of Bulgaria”.
Assa is the new Executive Director of the Governing Board of the Endowment Fund. He is going to serve a four-year term. The other members of the Governing Board appointed Wednesday are Alexander Popov, Prof. Ivan Rashkov, Diana Damyanova, Mariya Bozhkova, and Deyana Kostadinova.
The Ministers of Culture, Health, Education, Education, and Labor are also members of the Board by default. Minister of Culture Vezhdi Rashidov has been selected by the Cabinet as the Chair of the board.
The National Endowment Fund “13 Centuries of Bulgaria” organizes and supports the activities of Bulgarian and foreign donors financing education, science, culture, historical and cultural monuments, healthcare, and other social spheres. It was found in 1980.
Gredi Assa is a popular Bulgarian artist and a professor at the National Arts Academy in Sofia. He has had exhibits of his own in Bulgaria, UK, Germany, Poland, USA, Luxembourg, France, Netherlands, Hungary, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, South Korea.
