Businesswoman Vanya Chervenkova has stated that scandalous Bulgarian journalist Bobi Tsankov, who was shot in downtown Sofia Tuesday, still owed her a large sum of money.

Chervenkova has been known as the top open enemy of controversial radio host Bobi Tsankov as she is the one who first raised fraud charges against him back in 2003 when he got BGN 50 000 for radio ads from her, and never advertised her products.

In an interview for Darik Radio, Chervenkova made it clear that she got Tsankov sentenced for fraud in 2007 before the Supreme Court of Cassation but that he never paid her the compensation he was supposed to.

She has also revealed that in her view Tsankov was indirectly responsible for an attempt on her life in which she was shot in July 2003 but survived. The plot against her was never resolved by the police and the case had been terminated for lack of evidence but she is convinced that it was connected with her suit against Tsankov.

Chervenkova said she believed that the assassination attempt against her was organized by people who owed very large sums to her and who were worried by the fact that she managed to get Tsankov sentenced over the fraud with a much smaller sum.

She admits that when she first filed a suit against Tsankov in 2003, she “warned” by certain friends of the controversial talk show host to back out.

Businesswoman Vanya Chervenkova is publicly known as a controversial figure herself. She first started her business by trading in alcohol. In 2006, she published a book, in which she described her life including her clinical death condition when she was shot in 2003, and claims to have met with God who revealed to her alien forms of life.
