Indonesia and people in Asia and around the world are remembering Saturday the 220 000 people who died in the tsunami caused by the 9,2-magnitude earthquake on December 26, 2004.

The disastrous 2004 tsunami left millions of other people on the Indian Ocean coasts stranded in a dire situation.

Exactly five years after the tragedy, Indonesia was hit by a 6,0-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale, which struck off Indonesia's Tanimbar Islands in the east of the country on Saturday.

Fortunately, there have been no tsunami alerts or reports of immediate damage.

According to the US Geological Survey, epicenter of the quake at 270 km northwest of Saumlaki in the Tanimbar Islands at a depth of 56 km.
