Five Roma fans are being probed by Bulgarian prosecutors after a mass brawl in Sofia on Wednesday evening ahead of the CSKA v Roma Europa League clash.

The five are being investigated for hooliganism offences by Sofia prosecutors and face up to two years in prison if found guilty.

The Roma fans have been released from detention but cannot leave Sofia until the prosecution decides whether it has enough evidence to raise charges against them.

Eight Italian fans were arrested in downtown Sofia on Wednesday and three of them were later released without charge.

CSKA Sofia fans clashed with Roma fans in the center of the Bulgarian capital ahead of their Europa League clash on Wednesday evening, which Roma won 3:0.

Two groups of fans were reported to have started a brawl outside a bar on Aksakov Street behind the Radisson Hotel in downtown Sofia, the Interior ministry reported.
