The Banker, the reference magazine part of the Financial Times Group, has awarded UniCredit Bulbank as the Best bank in Bulgaria for 2009 at a ceremony known as the bankers' Oscars.

Those recognitions come on top of the award for the “Best investment bank in CEE” received in October, bringing the total number of awards attributed this year by The Banker to UniCredit Group to a record eight.
“I am delighted that UniCredit Group has been awarded not only Best bank in Italy but also Best bank in CEE and in five countries of the region, as well as Best Investment bank in CEE,” Alessandro Profumo, CEO of UniCredit Group, said.
“This is testimony of the good performance and high quality of UniCredit as a European banking group in a tough environment,” he added.
