The situation in Bulgaria’s Agriculture Ministry is absolutely terrible since it has been ruled by the ethnic Turkish party DPS since 2001.
This was stated by Bulgaria’s Agriculture Minister, Miroslav Naydenov, in an interview for Nova TV Sunday night.
Naydenov said the former administration of the Ministry had failed to respond to extremely important for Bulgaria formal enquiries from EU institutions for months. At the same time, it executed a number of notorious land swap deals in just several minutes.
“They had been serving private interests with land swap and forest swap deals of which,
Bulgaria lost millions,” Naydenov said reminded that Bulgaria lost between BGN 2 B and BGN 8 B from the land swap deals performed in the recent years.
“I am going to fight for every square meter while I am the Minister. We will fight to get back to the state everything that we can,” the Minister vowed.
He said that in his personally capacity believed that the Ministry was right in demanding back all of the lands restituted to former monarch Simeon Saxe-Coburg, while explaining that no revenge was had been sought.
“My personal belief is that those forest lands belong to the state and that they must be restored to it,” Naydenov declared.
