Socialist Candidate for Sofia Mayor Georgi Kadiev

On Sunday, November 15, 2009, the Sofia Mayor candidate of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Georgi Kadiev, did not go to the polls.

Instead, he went to a lottery desk to buy a ticket for the Bulgarian state lottery which had a record jackpot of BGN 3,5 M.

People were very surprised and asked him why he did that.

"Because I have a greater chance of winning here," Kadiev replied.
