Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov declared that Bulgaria and Macedonia are not only neighbors but brother peoples, who have to help and support each other.
“We have categorically supported the removal of visas for Macedonian citizens. Skopje will also get our support for the Euro-Atlantic community,” declared Borisov.
At a joint briefing with his Macedonian counterpart Nikola Gruevski on Monday, Borisov explained that Bulgaria’s support for Macedonia’s bid to join the EU and NATO was not unconditional, but based on clear principles and obligations.
PM Borisov listed some of them: no tolerance of the language of hatred, nor of groups that create problems in Bulgaria, and a refusal to allow state media to incite hatred.
Macedonian Prime Minister Gruevski stated that, for his part, at the heart of his discussions with Boyko Borisov were general economic issues and the imminent (December 19) scrapping of visas for Macedonian citizens who want to travel to the EU.
“When all the countries in the Balkans become members of the EU, citizens from our region will be able to travel and work wherever they want,” stated Gruevski, defining that as a huge step forward.
He emphasized that historical issues should be left to the historians, and that politicians should focus on the present day, to work in support of the further Europeanization of both countries and towards a better living standard for all citizens.

What are you? Not a Bulgarian, I take it. I hate to burst your hate crime bubble, but Bulgarians consider Macedonians and Serbians if not exactly brothers, then very close cousins.

Really? I guess Serbians hate Serbia as much as Bulgarians hate Bulgaria.

I don't think Macedonians speak Vlach at home. Seems like they are quite mixed with christian Albanians. There is still some Bulgarians (southern Shop) in the north east of macedonia.

Technically there is no such thing as the Vlach language. It is either Romanian ( spoken in Romania proper, Moldova, Timočka Krajina and Serbian Banat) or Aromanian ( spoken in Macedonia - both in FYROM and Greece - and the Pindus area of Greece and Albania ).
Much smaller( and rather vanishing) groups of so called Vlachs speak Megleno-Romanian and Istro-Romanian.
AFAIK the Republic of Macedonia is the only Balkanic country to officialy recognize Aromanian as a "minority language" under the name of "аромански" or "Влашки јазик". It is an "official language" in Opshtina Krushevo.

Honterus,
according to the latest census about 10% of the Albanian population is of Vlach/Aromunian origin. In some regions, especially in the south-east they still speak Romanian at home, and there are a lot of young people from that region that study in Romania. Before the war there were even Romanian schools in Korca region.

Megleno-romanian and Pindus vlach are spoken in Macedonia but by a small minority of people. I used to know some meglenians from macedonia. Morlacchian or mauro-valach is spoken only in western Croatia today. Romanians in Serbia and east Croatia are in large part totally serbianized and usually declare themselves as Serbs.
There is a noticable portion of macedonians that used to speak Albanian, or their parents did, and now speak the official southern Bulgarian dialect.

@dzingis
The Bulgarians don't "hate" Bulgaria. Very few Bulgarians actually "hate" their country the way you put it.
And as far as the Serbians go- they might just as well try to mind their own business and work on their own countless problems rather than hating a neighboring country of theirs- like BG. Not to mention the facts that the Bulgarian people have more than enough reasons to actually harbor negative feelings towards Serbia because of its ultra-destructive nationalism/chauvinism and the backstabbing that occurred more than once in the Balkan history.
So please, spare us the feelings of the Serbs towards Bulgaria and try NOT to write about non-existing hatred of the Bulgarians themselves towards their own country.

I am not talking about hatred or historical 'backstabbing' or whatever. Simply put, Bulgaria is found unproper to live in by a huge percentage of Bulgarians and that is why people emigrated out of it. How can someone live in this rubbish and ruins?

Everyoe choses where he/she wants to live. Some people leave, some are coming back. There are others that apply for a BG citizenship. Some of them come from the ex Soviet republics, where it seems the shit is even bigger.
