Bulgaria are set to play Ukrainian club side Shakhtar Donetsk on Friday the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) reported early Wednesday.

The game against UEFA Cup champions Shakhtar Donetsk will take place at the Ataturk Stadium in the Turkish resort city of Antalya.

The newly announced fixture comes after Bolivia pulled out of traveling to Sofia for Saturday’s planned friendly, with the South Americans sighting "economic reasons" as the reason.

In a long saga, the Bolivia friendly was actually the second option, after Northern Ireland earlier cancelled the originally planned fixture in Sofia.

Bulgaria’s national team is still on schedule to visit Malta on November 18, for what has now become their next international friendly fixture. Manchester City star Martin Petrov has already announced that he will miss the trip with an injury.
