Bulgaria Court Set to Introduce CCTV to Identify 'Fake' Judge
Crime | November 10, 2009, TuesdaySofia Chief Prosecutor, Nikolay Kokinov, has reported that surveillance cameras will be placed throughout the Sofia City Court due to a fake judge who has been taking money from citizens in order to ‘decide’ cases in their favor.
Kokinov stated that a man disguised as a judge frequents the corridors of the Court and takes money from citizens against a promise to decide cases.
The middle-aged man, dressed in a black gown, has been touring the corridors of the Court for some days. Kokinov said that the investigation is continuing and that the CCTV cameras will hopefully identify the fraudster.
Kokinov added that more evidence has appeared in the 'Krasio' magistrate corruption case that could lead to new magistrates being named.
He also concluded that the Chief Military Prosecutor has withdrawn the refusal of the District Military Prosecutor's Office to investigate the 'Galeria' case. This allegedly came as a result of the materials submitted by Ivan Kostov, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for the Control of the State National Security Agency (DANS).
