A total of 349 Bulgarians had official bank accounts with over EUR or BGN 1 M by the end of September 2009, according to statistics of the Bulgarian National Bank.
214 Bulgarians have deposits of over EUR 1 M in Bulgarian banks. Another 117 hold deposits of over BGN 1 M. Only 18 are the Bulgarian millionaires with deposits in USD.
The total sum of the deposits of the 349 millionaires is over BGN 808 M, which makes an average of BGN 2,3 M per person.
Compared to July 2009, the number of Bulgarian millionaires has grown by 12.
A total of 113 Bulgarians are described as “credit millionaires”. 91 of them got credits in EUR, 19 – in BGN, and only 3 – in other currencies.
