CSKA Sofia coach Lyuboslav Penev has returned to steer his club in the clash against Slavia on Sunday after surprisingly submitting his resignation two days earlier, citing disagreement with the management.
The news comes after CSKA suffered a number of defeats, one against rival Litex Lovech 2-0, another at home against Minyor Pernik 3-0 and yet another 3:0 against FC Basel in a Europa League game.
Penev's resignation will be discussed by the club management on Monday.
Penev suspended last week nine players after they were spotted at nightclubs, a violation of the Bulgarian team's disciplinary rules. Shortly after however four of them were granted amnesty by the club president Dimitar Borisov, who promised he will do the same with the other five as well.
The suspended players included Bulgaria internationals Ivan Karadzhov, Ivan Ivanov, Kiril Kotev and Yordan Todorov and these will not be on the field in Sunday game as well.
Lyuboslav Penev was appointed CSKA Sofia coach in the spring and replaced his uncle Dimitar Penev. The team ranked second after the national champion Levski in the previous season.
