Ukrainian Woman Detained in Sunny Beach After Attempted Bribery of Police Officers
Bulgarian authorities found themselves grappling with a peculiar case involving a 60-year-old Ukrainian woman
The residents of the Bulgarian Danube city of Ruse have been worried over sneakers hanging on power lines, which is believed to be a sign of redistribution of drug dealing activities.
A pair of black sneakers have been found to be hanging on electricity wires in front of the city opera house, and that another pair of white sneakers is hanged on power lines on the central Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd.
The hanging of sneakers on power lines is believed to be used by drug gangs in US cities for marking territories.
According to sources “close to the drug dealers” in Ruse cited by Darik Radio, there is no redistribution of markets going on in the city as there are about 3-4 dealers all of whom work for one and the same group so there are no disputes of drug markets.
Another version that the sneakers were hanged by representatives of the skater circles has been rejected by local skaters.
The Ruse police have said they had no information linking the hanging sneakers to drug dealers or skaters. They believe the sneakers had been hanged by high school seniors who were having fun in “untraditional ways”.
