The Bulgaria Parliament has rejected a BSP request for Health Minister Bozhidar Nanev to update the Parliament on what is being done to counter the swine flu epidemic in the country.
Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) MP, Maya Manalova, followed up her Friday request with another on Wednesday. According to her, 140 people in every 10 000 are infected with the A(H1N1) virus and pharmacies lack enough flu vaccines and other medicines to help people combat it..
In response to the request, the Chairman of the parliamentary health committee from the governing center-right GERB party, Lachezar Ivanov, said that the parliament had recently been addressed by the Minister and that the issue should no be “overexposed”.
