From Karnobat to Brussels: Bulgarian Student Won The Young Translators Contest!
The Bulgarian winner of the EU Juvenes Translatores Contest 2024 is Pamela Kalpakchieva from Hristo Botev High School in Karnobat.
The most successful Bulgarian bodybuilder, Hristomir Hristov, won Saturday night Super Max Cup – Bulgaria’s first open bodybuilding gala tournament.

The open bodybuilding contest included the six best Bulgarian bodybuilders at the present moment from different weight categories and disciplines:
Hristomir Hristov (Beauty and Power Club, Sofia), 75 kg, who has won every single title in amateur bodybuilding including European and World Champion; Dimitar Dimitrov (Universal Club, Sofia), 120 kg, Bulgaria’s absolute bodybuilding champion for 2009, who has been European Champion twice; classic bodybuilders Vladimir Kurdov (former European Champion) (Muscle Art Club, Plovdiv) and Konstantin Paskalev (Lion Club, Kazanlak); and the youth champions Atanas Nikolaev (Lion Club, Kazanlak), and Naser al-Ahmed (Slavia Sportes Club, Sofia).
Hristov received the gold medal and BGN 5 000. The heavyweight champion Dimitar Dimitrov came in second winning the bronze and BGN 3 000. Classic bodybuilder Vladimir Kurdov was third, and received BGN 2 000.
In addition to the three rounds that are part of every amateur bodybuilding contest, the Super Max Open Cup Tournament included a fourth challenge round, which is typical of the professional bodybuilding, and which was specially for the audience.
The event was attended by top German bodybuilder, Marcus Ruhl, who took the breaths of the Bulgarian audience.
The bodybuilding contest has been organized by the Bulgarian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, and sponsored by Super Max, the world’s second largest shaving products producer.
The Super Max Manager for Eastern Europe, Rossi Mladenov, has expressed the company’s intention to turn the open bodybuilding cup tournament into an annual event.
