Hristomir Hristov (Beauty and Power Club, Sofia), 75 kg, who has won every single title in amateur bodybuilding including European and World Champion; Dimitar Dimitrov (Universal Club, Sofia), 120 kg, Bulgaria’s absolute bodybuilding champion for 2009, who has been European Champion twice; classic bodybuilders Vladimir Kurdov (former European Champion) (Muscle Art Club, Plovdiv) and Konstantin Paskalev (Lion Club, Kazanlak); and the youth champions Atanas Nikolaev (Lion Club, Kazanlak), and Naser al-Ahmed (Slavia Sportes Club, Sofia).

Hristov received the gold medal and BGN 5 000. The heavyweight champion Dimitar Dimitrov came in second winning the bronze and BGN 3 000. Classic bodybuilder Vladimir Kurdov was third, and received BGN 2 000.

In addition to the three rounds that are part of every amateur bodybuilding contest, the Super Max Open Cup Tournament included a fourth challenge round, which is typical of the professional bodybuilding, and which was specially for the audience.

The event was attended by top German bodybuilder, Marcus Ruhl, who took the breaths of the Bulgarian audience.

The bodybuilding contest has been organized by the Bulgarian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, and sponsored by Super Max, the world’s second largest shaving products producer.

The Super Max Manager for Eastern Europe, Rossi Mladenov, has expressed the company’s intention to turn the open bodybuilding cup tournament into an annual event.

Top Bulgarian bodybuilders Hristomir Hristov and Dimitar Dimitrov are going to take part in the World Bodybuilding Championship in Qatar next week.

What is the most important conclusion from the Sofia Mayor elections on November 15, 2009?
That the ruling party GERB of PM Borisov continues to be hugely popular, whereas the Socialists are pretty much out.

That the decline of the Socialist Party has stopped whereas the ruling party GERB has failed to attract the expected very high number of voters.

That the Sofia residents are either completely disillusioned with politics, or care little about who is Mayor.

That the record-high jackpot of the Bulgarian State Lottery "Toto" generated much greater interest than the Mayor elections.
