The Bulgarian Pandemic Committee has decide to buy swine flu vaccines for 180 000 people, or 10% of the risky groups.

The decision has been announced Thursday by the Health Minister, Dr. Bozhidar Nanev, who is also deputy chair of the Pandemic Committee.

In order to fill up the reserve, 200 000 packs of the medicines Tamiflu and Relenza will also be purchased, because some of the present amounts have already been used.

The Committee has also decided on the procedure in case of pandemic in the country. All ministries must prepare plans for functioning with 30% less staff. Among the groups in high risk are the children over 6-months-old, people with chronic deceases, and pregnant women.

Information materials will be prepared and distributed in all state administrative facilities and among the citizens.
