Bulgaria’s government has allocated BGN 25 000 for the rebuilding of two mosques that burned down in two separate occasions over the last several days.

BGN 15 000 will be given by the government for the rebuilding of the mosque in the Danube town of Nikopol which burned to the ground on Wednesday.

Another BGN 10 000 will be allocated for the restoration of the mosque in the southern city of Blagoevgrad, which was partly damaged by fire on Monday.

The amounts have been decided upon after consultations with the two mayors, and were sealed by Bulgaria’s Diaspora Minister, Bozhidar Dimitrov, who oversees the work of the Religions Directorate at the Council of Ministers.
