The Bulgarian Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) may nominate its own runner for the capital Sofia local elections in November.
The final decision of the rightist party has still not been made because negotiations with DSB and the ruling GERB party are still underway, UDF's Chair, Martin Dimitrov announced Tuesday.
Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) already made it clear that they would support GERB's nominee, Yordanka Fandakova, who is currently Education Minister.
“If UDF decides to back the GERB's nomination, we will expect common policy”, Dimitrov said.
In his words, in a week the Democratic Forces will come up with clear idea of what they are going to do. For this partial local election UDF registered as a party, and not as a coalition. At the general elections the union ran in a coalition with DSB.
