Bulgaria Customs Officers Discover Gold Hidden in Cheese

Bulgaria Customs officers have discovered 3,2 kg of golden jewelry hidden in cheese close to the Turkish border in Malko Tarnovo.
Customs officers with the help of the Bulgarian vetinary-medical control agency stopped a Romanian car on suspicion of importing milk and meat products illegally into the EU.
The Turkish citizen in the car was arrested and taken away for questioning and was allegedly traveling to Romania.
It was only later discovered that the jewelry was hidden amongst the cheese that had been confiscated. The golden jewelry was said to be of a high quality and worth around BGN 100 000.
