Nearly 10 000 people in Bulgaria (9 641) lost their jobs in just one month, the Employment Agency data reveals.
The August unemployment rate in Bulgaria has reached 7,88%. The labor bureaus report that have a total of 291 852 unemployed individuals registered with them. In August they went up by 9 641 compared to July 2009.
The largest share of the unemployed workers came from the manufacturing industry (20%), followed by the trade sector (16%), the state administration and defense (15%), construction (7%), and farming (3,5%).
In the mean time, the Agency reports that the labor bureaus have declared 11 666 job openings in August, which is 1 516 less than July.
