Bulgaria Cabinet Vows Support for Serbia EU Membership

The Bulgarian cabinet will do everything within its powers to make Serbia's European Union membership possible, Minister without Portfolio, Bozhidar Dimitrov declared.
Dimitrov, who is the Minister for Bulgarians Abroad, spoke Thursday during a media forum in the Serbian city of Nis.
The Forum "The Bulgarian Community in Serbia - a Bridge between Belgrade and Brussels" discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
At the event's opening, Dimitrov announced that Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, had asked him to convey the message that he would personally commit to a better development of the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Serbia. Dimitrov further pointed out that such development was among the top priorities of the Bulgarian government and he as Minister would also try his best to help Serbia's EU accession.
Former Foreign Minister and Chair of the Bulgarian Atlantic (NATO) Club, Solomon Passy, also attended the Forum. He stated that Serbia's EU membership would be very beneficial for its relations with Bulgaria, adding the EU wanted proof that each candidate member can work well with its neighbors and Serbia must apply efforts in this direction.
Passy pointed out Bulgaria had the potential to become one of Serbia's strongest allies in their quest to join the EU.
