The driver of the bus that caused the death of 18 Bulgarians in May, in the "Bakadzhik" area near the city of Yambol, has been officially charged by the Prosecution.

The criminal charges are for "causing a traffic accident and the death of numerous individuals along with injuries to others while the act had been committed in the influence of alcohol," the Yambol Regional Prosecutor, Georgi Handziev, explained.

The test revealed the driver had a blood alcohol level of 0,6 pro miles at the time of the accident.

The owner of the bus that was transporting the group of elderly people to the "Bakadzhik" for the celebrations of the Day of Spas, is also charged with causing the death of numerous individuals over recklessness.

The technical expertise of the bus showed fault in the break system.

The trial will be in the court by mid-October.
