Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, publicly admitted Friday that his relations with the country's President were "bad."

Borisov spoke during the morning block of the TV channel Nova Televizia, several days after the tensions between the two became known to the public and the media.

Borisov made the statement when the interviewer asked him to clarify his attitude during one of his latest press conferences when the PM replayed to a question regarding Parvanov with the words: "Don't bother me... this press conference is over."

"There are 70-80 reporters at any particular event. Each of them is from a different media and they all want to ask the same question so that they have the answer for themselves, but I cannot respond to all 70... Everyone begins with: "The President said" and I must stop and listen to what the President said. I don't have the desire and I won't do this. When I just hear the word "the President", I know already I have also heard the question 10 times...," Borisov explained.

The PM further said that everything that was achieved in Brussels by the official Bulgarian delegation on September 9 and 10 would be discussed on September 14, when the President convenes the Consultative Council for National Security (KSNS). Borisov stressed that the law mandates that the President convenes the KSNS, so he and his ministers would comply and attend the meeting.

"My personal relations with a certain person don't matter when this person represents an institution. Our relations are bad as of today, but this does not have any significance regarding the work of the institutions," the PM stated.

The two exchanged several blows lately. Boris publicly criticized Parvanov that he used the tragedy with the 15 Bulgarians, who drowned in the Ohrid Lake to lead a PR campaign and the President accused the PM of being incompetent about Bulgaria's energy policy and appearing unprepared for the meeting with the Russian PM, Vladimir Putin.

During the interview Borisov said he would not talk about the tragedy in Macedonia since he said all he had to say, and because what is important now is the issue with the absorption of the EU funds.

Borisov pointed out the trust that the European Commission demonstrated towards his cabinet and the fact that Bulgaria must lead its energy policy within the frame of the EU.

„I still don't' know how much the Russian energy projects will cost us. There are thousands of experts who say those projects are in the interest of Bulgaria, but since the chore to pay for them fell on me, I must know the exact cost. If they are so competent and knowledgeable, all those people, who come and talk to you about building Belene, please ask them just one question - what does it cost? If they know so much they would be able to tell you," Borisov concluded.
