Ministers from Bulgaria's former cabinet are going to face legal charges in the next few days, Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, announced Thursday.
Tsvetanov refrained from stating any particular names because the charges are currently being submitted to the Prosecutor's Office.
"I have made all necessary arrangements for full assistance in documenting the criminal activities that have been committed," Tsvetanov said.
Earlier Thursday, Yane Yanev, leader of the Order, Law and Justice (RZS) party revealed that former Bulgarian Prime Minister (PM), socialist leader, Sergey Stanishev, was presented documents from the State Security Agency (DANS) regarding corruption in high echelons of power, but concealed the information.
The said report is over 1,000 pages long, according to Yanev, who failed to specify if this is the same report mentioned by former DANS high-ranking employee, Aleksei Petrov.
In an interview for Bulgaria's daily "Trud" (Labor), Petrov, former advisor of the DANS Director, declares that Stanishev had received a report from the Security Agency about high level corruption.
Stanishev's party, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and Stanishev himself, refuted the claims and informed that no such DANS signals regarding Ministers being involved in corruption had been received by the former PM.
The Chairman of the Committee for control of DANS, Ivan Kostov, said that it is very unlikely that such report exists.
