Would-Be Parents Wait As Foreign Adoptions Plunge
From NPR
Bulgaria will tighten the control and fight the abuses in international adoption procedures by changing three enactments.
Deputy Justice Minister, Daniela Masheva, announced this Monday, the Bulgaria National Ministry reported.
There will be alternations in the regulation for the conditions and procedures for issuing an international adoption mediation clearance. The procedures on discontinuing already issued clearances will be changed, too.
This is done in order a more serious and successive control to be established by the Justice Ministry.
Changes will be made in the procedures foreseen by the regulations on issuing consents to international adoptions, and the registers for them. The procedures will become much quicker.
The work of the International Adoptions Council will be optimized, too, Masheva added. The changes will ease the activity of the organizations that deal with international adoptions, and will also help the control process.
