US pop star Madonna made no mention of the discrimination against the Roma during her concert in the Bulgarian capital Sofia Saturday night.

Earlier this week Madonna was booed during her concert in Romania's capital Bucharest when she stopped her concert for a while to call for end of the discrimination against the Roma minority. Both Bulgaria and Romania have Roma minorities.

It is not clear why Madonna skipped mentioning this issue in Sofia, and how the Bulgarian audience would have reacted, had she done so. Earlier in the concert, however, during one of her songs, Madonna sang, "I'll speak about gypsies if I want", probably in reference to her Bucharest experience.

Madonna's concert also included messages for religious tolerance and civic activism to which the Sofia audience responded with many cheers and great enthusiasm.
