The Bulgarian Council of Minister has replaced Wednesday eighteen District Governors appointed by the previous government of the Socialist-led three-way coalition.

This list of the the new district governors is as follows:

Blagoevgrad - Valeri Smilenov
Burgas - Konstantin Grebenarov
Varna - Dancho Simeonov
Vratsa - Pepa Vladimirova
Gabrovo - Mariyan Kostadinov
Kardzhali - Ivanka Taushanova
Montana - Ivaylo Petrov
Pernik - Ivo Petrov
Plovdiv - Ivan Totev
Ruse - Plamen Stoilov
Silistra - Vladimir Yankov
Smolyan - Stefan Staykov
Sofia - Danail Kirilov
Sofia District - Krasimir Zhivkov
Targovishte - Mitko Staykov
Haskovo - Rumen Danov

Bulgaria has 28 administrative districts with limited administrative powers; their governors are appointed by the central government.
