The Editor in Chief of the Bulgarian web-site europe bg, Ognyan Boyadzhiev, has been discovered beaten black and blue in his apartment in Sofia's Ivan Vazov quarter.

The 34-year-old man has been taken to Military Hospital in the capital, Darik radio reported.

His condition is stable, and there is no threat for his life, officials reported.

The incident happened just before midnight on Sunday. The signal to the police was sent by neighbors who heard cryings for help.

Two men rang on the victim's door, and attacked him after he opened. They inflicted him, and as a result he had wounds on his neck.

The perpetrators took personal belongings and debit cards, and ran away after they locked Boyadzhiev in his own apartment, the police reported. Before they left the apartment, they cut the phone cable, and took Boyadzhiev's mobile phone.

Latest reports say that he managed to call the emergency through the Internet.

The police had to use the help of the fire brigade to open the door of the victim's apartment.

Ognyan Boyadzhiev is Editor in Chief of the europe.bg portal. He is the creator and the first host of the bTV morning program, "Tazi Sutrin" ("This Morning"). Before that he was news writer and host of the radio broadcasts "Ogi and the Seven Dwarfs", and "Breakfast on the Grass" on the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).

In 2007, Boyadzhiev was the head of the elections headquarters of the rightist Sofia mayor candidate, Martin Zaimov.
