Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone are all set to come to Bulgaria in 2010 according to new Deputy Culture Minister, Dimitar Dereliev.

Dereliev who until recently was part of the management board at New Boyana Film made this statement while Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov was presenting his new team. Todor Chobanov was also presented as a Deputy Minister.

Stallone will be here in May 2010 to shoot the new Rambo film. Robert De Niro will come towards the end of the year and it is not yet known when Al Pacino will visit. Dereliev refused to give more information about the stars and especially about what films De Niro and Al Pacino will be shooting in Bulgaria.

Meanwhile it was announced that the budget of the Ministry of Culture will not be cut by more than BGN 4 M. Rashidov stated that the main priority of the Ministry will be to raise the self-esteem and prestige of Bulgarian artists.

Rashidov's team also said that they believe it is absolutely essential that EU funds for culture are used more successfully. For this purpose special units will be created to manage projects and they will seek greater cooperation with NGOs. Rashidov added that "there will be changes in the work of our cultural centers around the world and Bulgaria will have a Museum of Modern Art."
