Israeli Tank Kills Reuters Journalist in Lebanon, UN Investigation Reveals
A United Nations investigation has confirmed that an Israeli tank was responsible for the death of Reuters reporter Issam Abdallah in Lebanon last year
102 Bulgarian journalists from public and private electronic media were revealed Monday to have been collaborators of the former State Security service of the communist regime.
The 102 names released Monday night by the so called Files Commission (Commission for making public the collaborators of the State Security and the intelligence services of the Bulgarian People's Army) include a number of popular public figures.
The Files Commission checked the names of 2 366 persons from 273 electronic media including people who are owners, directors, deputy directors, chief editors, deputy chief editors, talk show hosts, political analysts, and editorial board members.
The names of those who collaborated with the State Security include Toma Sprostranov, Yordan Georgiev, Viktor Angeloev, Martin Minkov, Kostadin Filipov, and Bozhidar Tomov from the Bulgarian National Radio; Nikolay Aprilov, Vladimir Bereanu, Petar Vuchkov, Vladko Murdarov.
The more notable former State Security collaborator from among the private electronic media include Petar Mandzhukov (owner of the BBT television), Radosvet Radev (owner of Darik Radio), Krasimir Uzunov (owner of the Focus Information Agency), Georgi Agafonov (owner "7 Dni TV"), Petar Punchev (Director of FM+ Radio), Velizar Enchev (political analysts and talk show host in several TV stations).
