42-year-old businessman Rumen Rachev has been killed outside the hospital in Bulgaria's Shumen.

Rachev was allegedly shot, the police were informed of the incident at 12:31 pm Friday. There is no information about the killer.

Rachev is the owner of the hotel complex ‘Bohemi' in Shumen and the cake shop Miki also in the town.

Rachev allegedly also owned the premises that include the GERB offices in Shumen that have been situated in premises owned by Rachev in Shumen's city garden since the founding of the local party.

The leader of the GERB list in the area, the lawyer Ivaylo Toshev, arrived at the crime scene soon after the shooting. BTA reported.

According to witnesses Rachev was shot in his AWD "Infinity" by someone from a moving car after being followed to the hospital, where he regularly went to be treated for a minor illness.
