Northern Europe is Increasingly Relying on Wind Power
New energy trends are gaining strength in Europe, including rising investments in wind power.
Investors are showing tremendous interest in the construction of wind power generators and by 2015 their number in Northeastern Bulgaria is expected to total 600 with a capacity of 1500 MW.
The statement was made by Economy and Energy Minister Petar Dimitrov, who spoke at the opening of a round table in the town of Kavarna on the development of wind energy parks in Bulgaria and environment protection.
According to the minister investors' orders so far are for power generators with capacity of 5 200 MW.
Bulgaria currently has 72 wind power generators with capacity of 113 MW, up from 52 MW a year earlier.
