Central Election Commission Prepared for 2-in-1 Elections in Bulgaria
As Bulgaria gears up for early parliamentary elections (6th in the last 3 years), the Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced its readiness for a unique scenario
Bulgaria's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) drew Thursday the order under which runners for the Parliament elections in the country, to be held on July 5, will feature on the ballot.
20 parties and coalitions will take part in the elections. Most parties and Coalitions that participated in the June 7 European Parliament elections retain their ballot numbers.
The centre-right "Order, Law and Justice" party, which in the previous MEP elections put forwth Bulgaria's six medics imprisoned in Libya as its candidates for MEP, will feature under spot number 1.
The Coalition for Bulgaria featuring the Socialist party, the senior partner in the ruling three-way coalition and runner-up in polls before the elections, will be placed at the spot number 6.
Its two partners in the coalition, the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and the National Movement for Stability and Prosperity (NMSP) will come at spots number 4 and 8 respectively.
GERB, the popular center-right party of Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov, which has been tipped to win the elections, comes at spot number 3.
The ultra nationalists from Ataka will feature on the list under number 5.
LIDER keep their number 2 ballot while the Union "Defense" is 8.
The number for the ballots for the other parties is as follows: 9 for Coalition Bulgarian Agrarian People's Union, 10 is Bulgaria Leftist Coalition, 11 - Party of Liberal Alternative and Peace PLAM (FLAME), 12 - the "Greens", 13 - Movement "Social Democrats", 14 - VMRO, 15 - "The Other Bulgaria" party, 16 - Union of Bulgarian Patriots, 17 - National Movement for the Salvation of the Motherland, 18 - Bulgarian National Union, 19 - the Blue Coalition and 20 - Coalition for the Motherland
