Hristo Stoichkov With Debut Romantic Song
On February 14th, the debut song of football star Hristo Stoichkov was released
The Bulgarian football legend and ex-coach of the national team, Hristo Stoichkov, has been accused of fixing games in Romania.
The accusation came Wednesday by the President of FC Timishoara, Marian Iancu, the Dnevnik Daily reported.
Iancu stated that Stoichkov had ordered the Bulgarian referee, Anton Genov, to rule in favor of the FC Unirea Urziceni against FC Steaua Bucuresti.
Genov was invited as a referee of the football match, which had a great importance for the champion's title in the Romanian championship. Eventually, the games finished in draws, which helped Unirea to be pronounced as champion.
FC Timishoara was hopeful that Unirea would lose, so that it could win the championship.
Iancu made his statement an hour before the beginning of the game Wednesday evening.
"People, close to me, informed me that Stoichkov ordered Genov to help Unirea. What can I expect from this game? I am an experienced businessman, and they cannot trick me so easily. I know that the referee is run from a distance", Iancu said.
In his words, the famous Romanian football player, Gheorghe Hagi, is involved, too, as he is a good friend of Stoichkov.
Hagi is very close to the coach of FC Uniria, Daniel Vasile Petrescu. This is why Iancu accused Stoichkov of fixing the game.
"As far as I know, Stoichkov is Genov's best man, and godfather of his child", Iancu said.
Earlier in the season, FC Timishoara was deducted six points from its league tally, because it did not obey UEFA's order to change its name.
Iancu appealed, and hopes that the case will be solved in his favor, the points will be returned.
However, in the last round, FC Timishoara lost to FC Brasov, and FC Uniria became the champion, regardless of what UEFA will decide.
