Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov has found his way into a colorful exhibition of photomontages by a Serbian gay activist and editor in chief of the GayEcho portal.
In "The Extreme Makeover" exhibition Predrag Azdejković depicted the Bulgarian president with the special make-up of the the Kiss band members.
Azdejković says the exhibition is a response to the steadily growing trend for international and domestic politicians to become stars, bigger than those in the entertainment industry.
The display consists of 50 photomontages of world leaders and Serbian politicians, most of whom honor great movies, actors and singers, such as Cabaret, It, Frankenstein, Joker from Batman, Charlie Chaplin, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, Hulk, The Saw, Memoirs of a Geisha, A Clockwork Orange, Santa Claus, Josipa Lisac, Marilyn Manson, etc.
Azdejković says he wanted to turn public attention to the scarce participation of women in world and Serbian politics and the rampant homophobia in some states by smearing make-up on the faces of the politicians or transforming them into transvestites, like the presidents of Iran and Zimbabwe.
