Bulgarian ministers will receive 15% lower salaries as an anti-crisis measure.

The Council of Ministers has voted today to lower salaries of the ministers, their deputies, and the members of the political cabinet.

The measure is being taken over the growing concerns that the country will end up with a budget deficit until the end of 2009.

The proposal was made by the Finance Minister, Plamen Oresharski.

Other measures to deal with the effects of the financial crisis will be discussed next week.
