The Sofia City Court has postponed proceedings against the former "Kremikovtzi" and CSKA Sofia FC Director, Alexander Tomov, due to him running in the EP elections.

Tomov is being tried along with 3 other defendants, but due to the legal immunity that European Parliament election candidates receive, their trial has been postponed.

The court revealed that Tomov will also receive immunity until after the results of the Bulgarian general elections as he is set to run as a candidate for them too.

Tomov is indicted for document fraud and embezzlement of over EUR 5 M from CSKA and BGN 29 M from the steel mill.

If proven guilty, Tomov and the other three defendants face between 10 and 20 years behind bars.
