Jumbo, the Greek chain of toy hypermarkets, confirmed plans to open a second store in Bulgaria in 2010, but said it has put off the launch of a third store in the country for the year after.

Greece's largest toy retailer reported a net profit of EUR 68 M in the nine months to end-March, on sales up 16 percent to 357 million.

The company, which operates 44 shops in Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria, said the group achieved a rise in profitability, despite a difficult macroeconomic environment and higher restructuring and advertising costs.

Jumbo opened its first store in the Bulgarian capital Sofia at the end of 2007. The store has an area of 15,000 square meters and is located on Bulgaria boulevard.
