Over 100 Roma attacked the house of Filip Petrov who allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl in Bulgaria's Shumen on Tuesday.

The situation got out of control when a peaceful protest outside the house of Petrov escalated in to a full scale siege late Tuesday. Petrov's house was pelted with rocks and all his windows were broken, BGNES reported.

Petrov's brother-in-law Roberto, a Spanish citizen, then arrived at the scene, he shot above the heads of the crowd to try to disperse them. The Shumen police arrived in force soon after, to which Roberto reacted by crashing his car into one of the police vehicles. He was taken away for questioning.

Petrov's house is now under 24 hour guard and the local Shumen police stated that the situation is fully under control.
