Czech Police Arrests Former US Ku Klux Klan Leader
Former US Ku Klux Klan leader, David Duke, has been arrested by the Czech police Friday and faces up to three years behind bars
Duke is accused of the crime of Holocaust denial and the promotion of movements seeking suppression of human rights.
The official cite of David Duke confirms the arrest and has issued a lengthy statement blaming the Czech authorities of issuing false accusations and of tyranny.
"David Duke is a prisoner of conscience. This term, coined by Amnesty International, indicates someone who is "imprisoned because of their race, religion, color, language, sexual orientation, belief, or lifestyle so long as they have not used or advocated violence. It also refers to those who have been imprisoned and/or persecuted for the non-violent expression of their conscientiously-held belief," the site reads
Duke is on a visit in the Czech Republic on the invitation of local neo-Nazis to promote his memoir book "My Awakening", published in 1998.
Denial of Holocaust is a crime in the Czech Republic, punishable by up to 3 years behind bars. The police have the right to detain Duke for up to 48 hours and the Court then has 24 hours to make a decision about permanent detention.
Duke, who is an American white nationalist, former Grand Wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, former Republican Louisiana State Representative, was scheduled to lecture during the weekend in Prague and Brno.
The Prague Karlov University cancelled Friday his lecture before students studying extremist practices over fears that the event could be interrupted by neo-Nazis.
The Czech Republic has seen lately an increased activity of extreme rightist groups.
Duke says he is a racial realist asserting "all people have a basic human right to preserve their own heritage." He speaks in favor of voluntary racial segregation and white separatism.
Duke has also unsuccessfully run for the Louisiana Senate, US Senate, US House of Representatives, Governor of Louisiana and twice for President of the United States.

"But today's Neo-Nazis are called extreme right."
Today's neo-Nazis are extreme right in a very specific and narrow way--they are against Muslims, African and Asian immigrants. They kick their arses for fun. Other than this, they are Lefties through and through. They would have been working for the KGB back in the day. lol
"Using that logic, Hitler was RIGHT."
Close, but NO cigar! Hitler was a National SOCIALIST, lamb chop! A Leftie through and through. A deadbeat bohemian "artist" hanging out in the coffee houses of Vienna. Only a Leftie like Hitler or Stalin can bring such disasters to the world.
"What do you care if these asses fry in an Czech jail "
What are you babbling about? No one is going to a Czech jail. David Duke was invited to give lectures, then the idiot communists expelled him. No skin off his nose.
David Duke is the sexiest man in the universe and he is my idol.
There is no such a thing as a "right wing radical", all the nut case radicals are on the left. The right side is just what it indicates--RIGHT. You lefties are in the wrong.
You are beginning to sound like a ranting right wing radical ;) Now we all know that the leadership of the KKK just went a "little" bit pass just putting white sheets and expressing some beliefs. Let us say they were not exactly on the legal side.
What do you care if these asses fry in an Czech jail ;) Anyone who destroys a perfectly good white bed sheet deserves to go to jail, there a 1000000 of Africans without sheets, its a crime to make holes.
"And as far as persecuting people for what they believe, what aout that months-long tirade you gave me about my Church? HYPOCRITE!"
I am your favorite sparring partner, admit it! You love me!
Seriously, just because I was expressing an opinion about your church without actually harming any Mormons in the process, now I should be jailed? I don't believe Joseph Smith was a prophet, so now I should be jailed? David Duke doesn't believe in the Hollocaust, so now he should be jailed? Idiot Czech communists.
"Under Czech law he did. And were he in Germany, he would have done here, too."
What exactly has he DONE? How exactly has he HARMED any Czech citizen? The guy has ideas and beliefs. That's no reason to put him in jail. The Czechs just elected a communist government. They are IDIOTS. This is not the Middle Ages, we don't burn witches anymore, we don't persecute people for their beliefs, unless they ACT OUT on them and lynch niggers.
"And if a citizen of some other country broke our laws, I'm sure you'd say that our police have the right to arrest him, and our courts to sentence him."
Only if he ACTED OUT on his illegal ideas and harmed someone in the process.
Why is Reverend White (the Obaminator's ex-preacher) not in jail for preaching hatred against white people? Why is it OK to put David Duke in jail, but not Reverend White? Because it is against the law to commit hate crimes against blacks, but not against whites? What kind of fcuked-up Liberal agenda is this?
You're worse than the weather vane on the barn. The compass points remain constant, but the chicken turns with every wind!
"He has done nothing wrong" Under Czech law he did. And were he in Germany, he would have done here, too.
And as far as persecuting people for what they believe, what aout that months-long tirade you gave me about my Church? HYPOCRITE!
David Duke has not strung up and Czech citizens that I know of, so why is the Czech Republic planning to put him in jail? He has done nothing wrong. The KKK has not perpetrated any negro lynchings in years. It is the same as jailing one of your prophets because years ago some of them practiced polygamy. It is ridiculous to keep discriminating against David Duke and the KKK for things some of them did a hundred years ago, just as ridiculous as persecuting the LDS for polygamy.
The Pope has some nerve disciplining a priest for not believing in the Holocaust when he himself believes that Jesus was the son of God. Persecuting people for the things they believe is the worst kind of dictatorship.
