Bulgaria Oks Merger of Railway Companies

The Bulgarian competition watchdog gave the green light to the merger of railway companies BDZ Passenger Transport, Colovag and Intercom into the joint business BDZ Bulvagon.
The move aims to tighten the control over the manufacture and repair works of passengers' wagons and better ensure transport safety.
The merger is also expected to create new job positions for railway specialists.
