The workers from the troubled Bulgarian steel mill "Kermikovtzi" are protesting Friday for the third day in a row.
The workers vowed to continue their protest rally, blocking downtown Sofia, until the mill's future becomes clear. They demand the State finds a bidder for the mill and their overdue salaries they say have not been paid since November.
Representatives of the workers met once again with the Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament, Georgi Pirinski. Pirinski talked to the leaders of the two trade unions at the mill, Vasil Yanachkov and Lyudmil Pavlov.
The Speaker underlined one more time the urgent need to establish a constructive dialogue between the unions and the Cabinet and made the commitment work actively to bring the parties together.
Darik radio reports that the demonstrators are now moving from the square in front of the building of Bulgaria's Parliament to the Ministries' Council building.
In the afternoon Friday, the trade unions are scheduled to meet the steel mill's management.
It was revealed Wednesday that the Brazilian metallurgy giant, CSN, had presented, after all, a contract draft for the mill's coking plant.
Also Wednesday, Economy Minister, Petar Dimitrov, informed that Bulgargaz will not halt gas supply to "Kremikovtzi" as previously announced, because the State was still searching for a strategic investor.
